Destruction
Destruction is a German thrash metal band. They are regarded as one of the "Big Four" of the German thrash metal scene, along with Kreator, Sodom, and Tankard. Three of these bands—Tankard being the exception—are often credited with influencing the early development of black metal by incorporating elements that later became characteristic of the genre.
Originally formed under the name Knight of Demon, the band changed its name to Destruction in 1984. During much of the 1990s, Destruction operated without a record label and self-produced their albums until signing with Nuclear Blast in the 2000s.
