Almøst Human

First born in the 90’s under Olivier Perdrizat (guitar and composition) and Rosario Fullone’s (drums) initiative, Almøst Human slowly faded a few years later before rising back again in 2008, when Jan Peyer (bass) joined the band.

This seminal line-up was soon completed with Chris Matthey, second guitarist whose producer’s talents helped to the band to forge a sound as much powerful as delicate. Sometime later, Ben Pluss, leading vocal, came crown the Gang, lending his verve and unique tone to a collection lashing soul and flesh’s intimacy.

Almøst Human’s music oscillates between introspection and rage crisis, hardness and relief. Making light of usual metal-bound « clichés » (occult symbols, blood), the band questions us about our human being’s nature and about the place we occupy – or wish to occupy – in the animal kingdom.

Associating the peculiar technicity of extreme metal with the energy of rock music, Almøst Human keeps focus on melody and emotion at large. Fully self-produced, except for the mastering, which was by Cutting Room, studio based in Stockholm, Almøst Human’s first EP “Ø” is a slap in the face and should rise the interest of any innovative metal fan. Particularly stressed on atmospheres, guitar effects, the EP enjoyed a fine production and mixing thanks to the work accomplished by Chris and Olivier at the Royal Studios in Lausanne.

In the autumn of 2012 the band performed in Nepal during the 3rd edition of the “Silence Festival” for its first appearance abroad, incidentally benefitting from the experience of established acts such as Textures (Netherlands) or Freak Kitchen (Sweden).

The end of 2014 brings a collaboration with Swiss comedians Vincent Kucholl and Vincent Veillon of radio and TV show “120 secondes”. Almøst Human composes, records and mixes the music of the Valaisan metal duet: Black Lion Genocide. The band plays on the main stage of the Paleo Festival in 2015 with Black Lion Genocide in front of 40’000 fans.

In September 2017, Almøst Human is back on stage during the first edition of the Abyss Festival alongside Pro Pain. At this occasion, the band welcomes a new member in the person of Gilles Bonzon as new guitar player, as Chris decides to take on full studio production of the band.
