Orden Ogan

Orden Ogan is a German power metal band with elements of folk metal, formed in 1996 by Sebastian Grütling (drums) and Sebastian Levermann (lead vocals and guitar). The band has released three demos and seven studio albums, and is currently signed to Reigning Phoenix Music; prior to 2024, they were signed with AFM Records. Orden Ogan also organises the German metal festival WinterNachtsTraum.

The band was originally founded in June 1996 as Tanzende Aingewaide and was renamed Orden Ogan in 1997. The name combines the German word "Orden" (Order) with the Old Celtic word "Ogan" (Fear), translating to "The Order of Fear". Orden Ogan released three demo tapes: "Into Oblivion" (1998), "Soli Deo Gloria" (1999), and "Testimonium A.D." (2004).

Orden Ogan considers their history to begin in 2008 with the release of their first studio album "Vale" via Yonah Records. The album received positive reviews in the European press, and introduced the band’s mascot, Alister Vale, who features in the loose concept present across all studio albums. "Vale" was later released in Brazil and Japan in 2009. The album artwork for all studio releases has been created by Andreas Marschall. The band performed over fifty shows in 2008, including festivals such as Rock am Ring, Metal Healing in Greece, Rock Harz, and Metal Camp in Slovenia.

Their second studio album, "Easton Hope", was released in 2010 through AFM Records. Following this release, the band toured Europe supporting Tiamat. In 2012, following a lineup change, Orden Ogan released their third studio album "To The End", which peaked at number 41 on the German charts. The album’s first single, "The Things We Believe In", had over 5.8 million YouTube views as of 2021.

Orden Ogan made their first appearance in the United States in 2014 at ProgPower USA XV. They also performed at Wacken Open Air, Made of Metal Festival in the Czech Republic, and toured with Rhapsody and Freedom Call. In 2015, they toured Europe with Hammerfall and Serious Black.

Sebastian Levermann founded Greenman Studio in 2014, where he produces and mixes audio for Orden Ogan and other bands, including Rhapsody of Fire. The band released their fourth studio album, "Ravenhead", in 2015, reaching number 16 on the German charts and number 56 in Switzerland.

Orden Ogan released "Gunmen", their fifth studio album, on 7 July 2017. The first single, "Gunman", was released on 19 May 2017. In 2019, Steven Wussow, formerly of Xandria, joined as the band’s bassist.

The sixth studio album, "Final Days", was announced on 6 December 2019 and released on 12 March 2021, after a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Singles from the album included "In the Dawn of the AI" and "Heart of the Android". "Final Days" reached number three on the German charts. On 21 October 2022, the band released "Final Days (Orden Ogan and Friends)", a tribute album featuring guest vocalists on the original songs and including the previously unreleased track "December".

In 2023, Sebastian Levermann announced that the band’s eighth studio album, "The Order of Fear", would be released in 2024. On 16 February 2024, Reigning Phoenix Records confirmed the album’s Summer 2024 release, along with its first single, "My Worst Enemy".
