The Neal Morse Band

The Neal Morse Band is an American progressive rock group formed in 2014 by singer, multi-instrumentalist, and bandleader Neal Morse, based in Nashville, Tennessee. The group also includes drummer Mike Portnoy, bassist Randy George, guitarist and keyboardist Eric Gillette, and keyboardist Bill Hubauer. Guitarist Adson Sodré was an early member but left due to visa issues.

Morse had previously formed the progressive rock band Spock's Beard in 1995 with his brother Alan, releasing albums that achieved moderate success. In 1999, he co-founded the supergroup Transatlantic with Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt of the Flower Kings, and Pete Trewavas of Marillion. After becoming a born-again Christian in 2002, Morse left Spock's Beard to focus on a solo career centred on Christian rock, producing a series of progressive rock concept albums reflecting his faith. During this period, he continued to perform with Transatlantic and formed additional projects, including Yellow Matter Custard and Flying Colors, before establishing The Neal Morse Band.
